At Meadowside School we acknowledge equality of opportunity does not mean everyone has the same, so we enable equity of opportunity to provide fairness by giving students varying, perhaps unequal, but proportionate levels of support to meet their individual needs. Equity recognises that each pupil has different needs & background experiences, so we allocate the necessary resources & opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome.'

We have already differentiated our curriculum into accessible pathways, to reduce the need to adapt teaching for every child, in response to the way that individuals learn best. However, we need to personalise their support further & know when to put up scaffolding & when to reduce this, as learning increases in independence, working in partnership with other support partners & services.

At the bottom of the page, you will find the OAP- the Ordinarily Available Provision document. We offer additionally to this with our already differentiated curriculum pathways, adaptive teaching & personalised scaffolded support, in Preparation for Adulthood.
